Loading and Shooting

All muzzle loading revolvers are similar to load so there's nothing really special to say about them. Follow the guide below and you should be OK. Just to state the obvious, capping off should only be done on the firing point when the order to "begin shooting" has been given. Just to digress, this brings me to a pet hate where every range seems to have different commands ranging from "'oright mate" to "OK" to "begin" as a signal to commence firing, and as for proving clear words fail me! Is it really so difficult to use the proper commands?

  1. To clear the nipple channels, put a cap on each nipple and discharge them.
  2. Add a powder charge into one chamber.
  3. Stick a wad on top of the powder and ram it home, or alternatively pour a measured charge of filler on top of the powder
  4. place a ball on top of the chamber and ram it home making sure no space is left between the powder/ wad/filler and the ball
  5. Repeat for the other chambers
  6. Now, if you haven't used a lubricated wad, fill the chamber mouths with grease
  7. Finally, cap each nipple and shoot the damn thing
