Hi, and welcome to Charcoal Burner. This site aims to
provide some basic guidance for the UK based newcomer to
black powder on Muzzle Loading pistol shooting in the
UK.

I created this site around around about 2000 when I was
truly enthused about Muzzle Loading and was just
starting to work on the web. Unfortunately my life's
awfully busy nowadays so I don't have the time to devote
to it that I did back then. But everything changes, and
hopefully one day soon I'll be able to spend more time
on the range.
This site doesn't get updated terribly often, but
it does contain an awful lot of useful information, so
have a look round, and you never know you just might
learn something, even if it's only how I feel about the
supine "head in the sand" brigade who've landed UK
shooters in the mess we're in now.
I've covered most of the basics, though I never did get
round to writing the section on flintlocks, and I've
long wanted to write a section on the law, but I can't
bear to think about what a mess that all is, so I won't
write it.
And finally an apology. At the time of writing, this
domain name is being used to send "spoof" email messages
by some spamming twat who'd be none the worse for a good
gralloching. There's nothing I can do to stop it
because email is inherently insecure, so if you're here
